Ricky Lombardo received his formal education as a flute/education major at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and Glassboro State College, Glassboro, New Jersey. He taught 25 years in the New Jersey public schools, 20 of those in the Princeton Regional School District. Ricky is an accomplished flutist and keyboardist as well as director of his professional flute quartet, "Flutistically Yours". Under the tutorage of his late father Harry Lombardo, a very respected and well-known professional jazz accordionist, he received his training on accordion and contemporary jazz harmony. Ricky is active in many different aspects of music, which include education, composing, arranging, publishing and numerous areas of performance. He owns and operates Lombardo Music Publications (LMP). His compositions/arrangements are written for a wide range of performance mediums with a very creative, exciting approach. Ricky is well known within the flute community as the originator of the expandable flute choir arrangement. His numerous publications continue to be performed all over the world. Ricky Lombardo will guest conduct the Tucson Flute Club for their 50th Anniversary Kick-off Concert on March 8, where the ensemble will present the world premiere of his newest work, "Southwestern Sketches," written for the Club.
